Gerry Di Maria

Gerry runs. Chases after life. Life chases him.

In the midst of a whirlwind of events, relatives and acquaintances, as a child he dreamed of a "normal" family, instead of having a father caught up in drugs and alcohol, mental institutions and rock ‘n' roll, violent frenzies, a misunderstood outcast.
Escapes, separations and reconciliations slip along the trail of his marriage. The minor continent of his maternal grandparents' house in the country is the stage where the drama of the law of the pack is enacted by his band of cousins, which Gerry endures dreaming of revenge. He spends his youth isolated from mass-produced society; involved with women, finding some relief in boxing, with friends that come out of nowhere and vanish mysteriously, a whirlwind of drunken delirium and fistfights, surreal stories of a life lived intensely. Ironic, timeless stories, with characters that leap off the page, steeped in humanity, anxiety, desperation. Raw, lysergic stories, crowded with lost souls and madmen crying to be heard. In their midst is Gerry. But Gerry's on the run. Running and springing ahead of everything, ahead of everyone.
