Davide Ferrario is a director and screenwriter. He began his activites as a director in 1987 with the short "Non date da mangiare agli animali" (Don't Feed the Animals), and in 1989 directed his first feature film, La fine della notte (The End of the Night). In 1991 he directed the documentary "Lontano da Roma" (Far from Rome) about the Northern League, broadcast on RAI, the Italian National Television network, afterwhich he directed and produced the documentary "Materiale resistente"(Bella Ciao, aka Still Fighting) together with Guido Chiesa. In 2005 he recieved three nominations for the David di Donatello prize for "Dopo Mezzanotte" (After Midnight), a totally digitally created feature, filmed inside the National Film Museum in Turin. In the same year, together with writer Marco Belpoliti, he made "La Strada di Levi" (Primo Levi's Journey), a documentary inspired by Levi's book "The Truce (aka The Re-Awakening)", in which Levi describes his homeward journey after being released from Auschwitz. In this documentary, presented at the Rome Festa del Cinema in 2006, the two authors retrace the six thousand kilometers that Levi covered to return home to Turin, comparing today's Europe to that portrayed in the book.
